Disney World Transportation Series: The Monorail System

The Monorail system at Walt Disney World is extremely straightforward, unlike the boat system! There are three main lines: Resort Monorail, Express Monorail, and Epcot Monorail. The good news about the Monorail system is that all Monorails are fully wheelchair & stroller-friendly! No transferring required – that’s right, stay in your mobility device & you can keep the kiddos in their strollers!

Resort Monorail

The Resort Monorail stops at, you guessed it, resorts! There are a total of 5 stops on this line:

  • Magic Kingdom
  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Ticket & Transportation Center
  • Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Express Monorail

The Express Monorail just has 2 stops:

  • Ticket & Transportation Center
  • Magic Kingdom

This Monorail is primarily used by guests who parked or got dropped off at the Magic Kingdom parking lot.

Epcot Monorail

The Epcot Monorail also just has 2 stops.

  • Ticket & Transportation Center
  • Epcot main entrance

To travel to Epcot from either the Express Monorail or Resort Monorail, hop on the Monorail to the Ticket & Transportation Center, then look for the signs to transfer to the Epcot Monorail. It’s an easy transfer!
