Ride Guide: Rides at Hollywood Studios Without Height Requirements

Hollywood Studios has a little bit of something for the whole family – thrill rides, shows, family rides, and delicious food! Let’s cover what rides and experiences have no height requirements and how best to experience them. For the Magic Kingdom edition of this article, click here! For the Epcot edition of this article, click here! Unfortunately, there aren’t too many rides at Hollywood Studios without height requirements – but that’s okay because there aren’t many rides at Hollywood Studios to begin with, and there are a lot of entertainment options like shows and character opportunities! Let’s get into it!

Hollywood Boulevard

Rides

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

This is an indoor, slow-moving dark ride aboard a “train”. It is bench seating with a shared lapbar. Babywearing and lap-sitting is allowed, but if you’re babywearing, remember that their limbs must be underneath the lapbar (AKA don’t sit their bodies over the lapbar). This is an action-packed ride, so while it is mostly slow-moving, parts of it are jerky and bumpy. It is not good for a nursing or bottle feeding session. The line, however, is pretty long – so it’s a good opportunity to feed if you’re able to stand and nurse or bottle feed.

Echo Lake

Rides

Unfortunately there are no rides in Echo Lake that are okay for all heights!

Entertainment & Other Attractions

For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-A-Long

This is an indoor air-conditioned theater show, with individual seats. The waiting area is standing room only, outdoors but covered. Strollers are not allowed in the waiting area or inside unless they are being used as mobility devices for guests with disabilities. This is a great opportunity to bottle feed or nurse, and a decent napping opportunity if your child can sleep through singing and other loud sounds!

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular

This is an outdoor, covered stunt show. The seats are metal bench seats with backs, and strollers are not allowed in the queue or the theater unless they are used as mobility devices for guests with disabilities. This is a good opportunity for bottle feeding or nursing, and a good napping opportunity, although the theater can get a little loud.

Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple

This is an outdoor, standing-room only show featuring the littlest Jedis of Hollywood Studios! As of January 2022, the show has not returned yet, so stay tuned for further details!

Mickey Shorts Theater Featuring Vacation Fun

This is an indoor, air-conditioned theater with individual seats showing a Mickey Mouse short cartoon. It’s a good opportunity for a quick bottle feeding or nursing session, or a short nap. Strollers are not allowed inside unless they are being used as a mobility device for guests with disabilities.

Olaf Meet & Greet

Although we can’t hug our favorite friends just yet, we can wave “hello” from a short distance and snap a quick picture. Strollers aren’t allowed inside unless they are being used as mobility devices for those with disabilities. This is not a good feeding or nursing opportunity as you’ll be standing for the entire experience.

Muppet*Vision 3D

This is an indoor, air-conditioned 3D film with individual seats. It’s a decent opportunity for bottle feeding or nursing, but keep in mind that you’ll be juggling a a pair of 3D glasses in addition to your child, so your hands may be a bit full! Strollers aren’t allowed in the queue or indoor waiting area unless it’s being used as a mobility device for those with disabilities. This probably isn’t a good option for a nap as the show is on the louder side.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Rides

Unfortunately there are no rides for little ones in Galaxy’s Edge!

Entertainment & Other Attractions

Galaxy’s Edge is a different land than the others. It’s much more immersive than other Disney lands, and the characters walk amongst you. Also, the entertainment experiences are mostly upcharge experiences that aren’t necessarily appropriate for little ones as they probably won’t “get” it in the same way an older child or adult will. Here are some things you can experience in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge:

Characters

You’ll see Chewbacca, Rey, Stormtroopers, and more walking around! Look up, and amongst the crowds to experience these characters!

Shopping

There are a lot of places to shop. The marketplace is a lively hub of the land, with the creature stall, Kat Saka’s Kettle, and other small shops offering a variety of goods for all your shopping needs. The Cast Members at all shopping locations are interactive and in character!

Build a lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop, although this is an upcharge experience aimed at the older crowd. You can also build a droid at Droid Depot, again aimed at the older crowd for an extra price.

Dining

There are some quick service options, a bar called Oga’s Cantina (featuring alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and few small snack options), and the milk stand featuring slushies. Personally I don’t like the slushies (they taste like Froot Loops to me) but a lot of people do. Oga’s Cantina requires reservations, although there are limited walk-up spots available! It is also very loud in there, particularly as the day goes on. There are very few seats and it is mostly standing room only. I don’t find it very kid-friendly but I have taken my son in there when he was under a year old, and I wore him in a baby carrier.

Overall, the land is an experience in and of itself… some small kids are sensitive to the loud noises and the “hustle and bustle” of an interactive land. If you need to escape due to the noise or crowds, Toy Story Land and the Muppets Courtyard area aren’t far away.

Toy Story Land

Rides

There is only one ride in Toy Story Land that has no height requirement!

Toy Story Mania

Toy Story Mania is a 3D shooter ride. Grab a pair of 3D glasses and board a ride vehicle to play a series of games to rack up a high score. Young kids and toddlers probably won’t understand the concept of the game until they are a little older, but there are fun visuals to look at. This is not a ride appropriate for a feeding session or a nap. Lapsitting and babywearing is allowed, and there is a tight lap bar that goes across your lap, as well as a “gun” that will be in front of you for the duration of the ride. This ride tends to whip around the corners, so I didn’t take either of my kids on this one until they had pretty good head/neck control, even though there’s no height requirement on it. The queue is completely covered and mostly indoors.

Disney Junior Play & Dance!

This is a really fun show for little ones and their parents to get the wiggles out and see some of your favorite Disney pals! This is an upbeat interactive show (yes, you will be dancing!) with flashing lights, loud tunes, and FUN! This show is mostly floor-seating only, and strollers aren’t allowed unless it’s tagged as a mobility device. Food & drink aren’t allowed inside but it’s OK if you’re nursing or bottle feeding a little one! The show is entirely indoors and air conditioned, but stroller parking is outside in the open, so don’t forget to cover your stroller if it looks like rain is coming. Also, outside this area, you can sometimes find Disney Jr. characters, so keep your eyes peeled!

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

This is a multi-sensory theater show, featuring a retelling of The Little Mermaid. As of writing, this has not reopened at Hollywood Studios from the parks’ closure. The waiting area is partially indoors, partially outdoors, but the theater show is entirely indoors with individual theater seats. The theater gets quite dark with mist and laser effects. Strollers are not allowed inside unless they are in use as mobility devices for those with disabilities. This is a good opportunity to nurse or bottle feed, although it is rather dark. Lapsitting and baby-wearing is allowed.

Walt Disney Presents

This is a walk-through museum-style exhibit culminating in a short theater film about the life of Walt Disney. Sometimes, the film is switched out with a preview of an upcoming film, so check with Cast Members to see what is being shown in the theater. This experience is entirely indoors and the theater features individual seats where lapsitting and baby-wearing is allowed. Strollers must be parked outside, except for those being used as mobility devices for guests with disabilities. This is a great opportunity for nursing or bottle feeding.

Star Wars Launch Bay

This is a walk-through exhibit where you can also meet Star Wars characters, or catch a short film. The Disney Visa meet & greet is also located here. Note that this experience also has not reopened from the parks’ closure. There aren’t very many seating areas here, although there may be some benches scattered around. Strollers aren’t allowed inside unless they are used as mobility devices for guests with disabilities. This is generally a good spot to bottle feed or nurse because you aren’t limited by time like you are with a theater show, but you may have trouble finding a spot to sit. The entire experience is indoors, once you get inside of course!

Sunset Boulevard

Rides

Unfortunately the rides on Sunset Boulevard all have height requirements and are more suited for older guests!

Entertainment & Other Attractions

Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy

This is a very cute show suitable for the whole family, with music, stage effects, video, & Lightning McQueen himself! Seating is metal seats with no backs so it’s not the most comfortable seating, but it’ll work for a short nursing or bottle feeding session. Strollers are not allowed inside unless being used as a mobility device for those with disabilities. The show is indoor and air conditioned, although the waiting area is outside with no shade. Lap seating and babywearing is allowed.

Fantasmic!

Fantasmic! is a nighttime spectacular featuring stadium-style seating in an outdoor theater. This show is set to return sometime in 2022, and historically Disney has offered dining packages, dessert parties, and FastPass+, although there is no word yet on whether or not these offerings will return or whether it will be offered as part of Genie+. Pyrotechnics, characters, music, and more light up the night in this fun show, if your littles are able to stay up late. Lap seating and baby wearing is allowed and this is a good opportunity to feed your little ones. Food & drink are allowed. The entire theater & show experience are outside, open to the elements. Strollers are not allowed unless they are used as a mobility device for those with disabilities.

Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage

This show takes place at various times throughout the day. The theater is covered, although outdoors, and the seats are metal bench seats with backs. It is a good feeding opportunity for your little ones! Strollers are not allowed unless they are being used as mobility devices for those with disabilities. Lap seating and babywearing is allowed.
