Farewell to Main Street Electrical Parade

It’s been a long time since I’ve written a post here – shortly after my last post, I found out I was pregnant! The subsequent months were filled with lots of nausea, major swelling that made it difficult to walk or stand for long periods of time, a hot summer, and a baby boy born via emergency C-section after 31 hours of later. My sweet son and I are both happy and healthy, and I’m back to getting into the parks as often as I can.

Today I’m taking a look at the most recent farewell to the Main Street Electrical Parade.

Why “most recent”, you ask?

Well, we said goodbye once during its original farewell season in 1996.

It returned to Disney California Adventure Park from 2001-2010.

It came back to Disneyland Park from January through August 2017.

Who knows where it will end up next!

One of the features of this parade was the spinning creatures that would approach parade guests at eye level.

The parade featured “thousands of sparkling lights” and “electro-synth-magnetic musical sounds” – according to the techno-inspired voice over the speakers at the start of the parade.

And of course, classic Disney characters are the stars of the show!

Will the Main Street Electrical Parade return? Who knows! With Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening soon, it may be awhile until we see a nighttime parade making its way down Main Street, U.S.A.!
