Who else is so excited for Buena Vista Street’s reopening? I know I am! With Knott’s and other California theme parks offering special events, I was hoping for Disney to jump on board and offer something similar. What we’re getting is more than I could have hoped for – shops, restaurant, churros, and maybe even Christmas decorations! Let’s go over what we should expect when this land reopens!

What?
Buena Vista Street, located in Disney California Adventure, is reopening for shopping & dining! Full list of offerings is below. Based on promotional images from Disney, it’s possible that we’ll see Buena Vista Street dressed up for the holidays!

When?
November 19!

Do I Need Park Admission?
Typically, Buena Vista Street is part of Disney California Adventure Park, and requires park admission to enter. BUT – Good news! Buena Vista Street is now considered an extension of Downtown Disney – no park admission required! I would expect this to change back to being part of Disney California Adventure when the theme parks reopen.

How Do I Get There?
Parking is available at the Simba Parking Lot, located off Disneyland Drive near Paradise Pier Hotel. For now, parking is complimentary, but starting November 19, parking will be $10.

Other Important Info
Disney will use a virtual queue if Buena Vista Street is too crowded. Do not be surprised if this happens, especially on weekends!

Christmas Decorations, You Say?!

Well… here’s the thing. Downtown Disney didn’t decorate for Halloween or fall beyond dressing up the windows & displays at World of Disney. What makes Buena Vista Street potentially different is that all the official marketing put out shows Christmas garland atop Elias & Co. Does that mean we should expect Christmas decorations, a tree, lights, Santa? I’m not 100% sure. I am hoping for at least some garland, and maybe lights and a tree. Santa may be too busy at the North Pole this year to make it down to California Adventure.

Who else is going to try to be there opening day?! I know I sure will be!
