Emails have gone out to various former Disneyland Annual Passholders containing a survey about possible options for the future of the AP program. Here, I’ll break down the options that have been presented in these surveys. Remember, these are RUMORS and are not indicative of any particular change being made to the program as of yet.

Thoughts
Options A & B are clearly the higher level passports, as noted by their price. Option B seems to be a better option given the higher number of reservations held at a time and discount on parking. In my opinion, the only advantage of Option A is a longer booking window.
Options C & D appear to be the mid-tier passports, at $599. Option D seems to be a little bit better value given the discount on parking, rewards program (which hasn’t been an offering of Disney’s before!), and more reservations held at a time. Option D also has 2 friends & family tickets included and more anytime reservations. However, Option C has MaxPass included, whereas Option D does not.
Options E & F are the lower-tier passports, at $399 each. There aren’t major differences between the two, although parking is included on Option F which is a big draw! When the parks closed, parking was $25/day, and that price does increase from time to time. Option F also has 6 anytime reservations, whereas option E has zero. Between the two, I’d pick Option F.
In my opinion, the best options are B, D, and F. If I had to pick today, based on the options listed and current price points, I would go with Option D as it has more included features and bigger discounts, despite additional blockout dates.
However, these are nothing more than just IDEAS at this point. Nothing is set in stone and everything is apt to change. In this crazy COVID world, expect the unexpected!
Lingering Questions
- What exactly are the blockout days? (I did not receive the survey so I am going off images I have found)
- What is the reservation window?
- How much are blockout day tickets?
- Are any options going to be available as an add-on (parking, MaxPass, PhotoPass)?
- Where is the dedicated entrance?
- How much will parking be upon reopening?
- Is park-hopping going to be allowed?
Rumored Ticket Options
1 day ticket | 2 day ticket | 3 day ticket | 3 day multi-visit ticket | 5 day multi-visit ticket | |
Price | $104-209 | $235-290 | $310-365 | $199 | $334 |
Blockout days | none | none | none | Varies – looks to be about half the year blocked out | Varies – less than 3 day multi-visit ticket |
Reservation window | 120 days | 120 days | 120 days | 120 days | 120 days |
Thoughts
That is a really big price range for 1 day tickets, and it looks like they’re planning to stick with seasonal pricing to discourage crowding at certain times of the year. The reservation windows seem pretty generous, too. All in all this is about what I was expecting as far as tickets go.
Lingering Questions
- What about 4-day tickets? Or tickets for guests staying longer than 5 days?
- On the 3 day and 5 day multi-visit tickets, does park hopping from one to the other count as 2 visits?
- What about ticket & hotel packages?
Final Thoughts
These options certainly are interesting, especially the passport options. I haven’t received an email survey and I’ll be interested to see if I receive one moving forward, as I’m sure they will do additional surveys! What do you think of the options?
