Disneyland Ride Guides: Rides Without Height Requirements

There are so many rides at Disneyland without height requirements that guests of all ages can enjoy together! Let’s go over them land by land, as well as what to expect for how to experience those rides with a baby or toddler who isn’t tall enough to go on the ride just yet!

Main Street, U.S.A.

Rides

Disneyland Railroad

The Disneyland Railroad is a slow-moving traditional railroad ride around the park, with 4 stations located in Main Street, U.S.A., New Orleans Square, Toontown, and Tomorrowland. This is a great ride for a nap or a feeding session! Strollers must be folded or left at the station! And, if you’re boarding at Main Street, U.SA., there is no ramp to get up to the station, just stairs! So strollers must be carried up or left at the bottom of the stairs and picked up upon your return after a grand circle tour. Lapsitting and babywearing are allowed on this attraction.

Main Street Vehicles

There are various Main Street Vehicles that travel on one-way trips up and down Main Street, U.S.A.! They operate on limited schedules and are subject to closures when it’s raining and during parades. I usually find them most commonly during the morning and early afternoon, granted there are no parades going on. Some of the vehicles you can find are the Omnibus (double decker bus) and the old-fashioned firetruck. These are very short, one-way trips, so it’s not very suitable for a nap unless your child is already asleep and you are babywearing. Strollers must be folded and carried aboard. Babywearing and lapsitting is allowed. The rides are too short for a nursing or feeding session.

Entertainment & Other Attractions

Main Street Cinema

This is an old-fashioned cinema showing classic Disney cartoons. Limited bench seating is available, making it a great spot for a nap or a nursing/feeding spot. It’s dark, quiet, and air-conditioned inside. Strollers must be parked outside.

The Dapper Dans

The Dapper Dans are a barbershop quartet performing in various locations throughout Main Street, U.S.A. – they roam throughout the land, sometimes on vehicles, sometimes in a set location. If you are able to catch them in a spot that has a bench available, it’s a nice opportunity to sit and feed your child or just give them a quick break!

The Disney Gallery

This is a walk-through art gallery featuring art for sale, just past the train station. It’s air conditioned and a nice place to walk through, but it can get crowded and tight. There is bench seating right outside, making the exterior areas a nice place to sit for a nap or a feeding session, unless there is a parade going on!

The Disneyland Story Presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln

This is located right next door to the Disney Gallery. It’s a small museum exhibit, and features an audio-animatronic presentation, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. It’s indoor and air-conditioned, and the show features individual, comfortable theater seating. It’s a great spot for a nap or a feeding session! Strollers must be parked outside unless they are used as a wheelchair.

Tomorrowland

Rides

Astro Orbitor

Astro Orbitor is a spinner ride similar to Dumbo, although instead of sitting side-by-side, guests sit one in front of another. To be honest, I don’t feel comfortable taking my kids on this ride until they reach the toddler years, as it pulls a lot more G forces than Dumbo does. I strongly recommend babywearing in a secure carrier if you choose to take your little one on this attraction! This is not a good ride for naps or feeding.

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters

This is a slow-moving indoor dark ride with laser guns. It is a noisy, short attraction, so naps are going to be difficult unless your child is already asleep in a baby carrier. Lapsitting and babywearing is allowed. This probably is not the best ride for a feeding or nursing session as it is a short attraction.

Disneyland Monorail

This attraction boards above the submarine dock in the heart of Tomorrowland, with its second station in Downtown Disney near the Disneyland Hotel. Guests may disembark in Downtown Disney or stay onboard for a roundtrip journey back to Tomorrowland. Strollers must be folded on this ride. The Monorail features bench seating, and this is a good ride for a nap or a feeding session. If you’re boarding in Downtown Disney, you must have valid admission as well as a park pass reservation into Disneyland Park.

Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage

This is an attraction that takes place underwater in a submarine! To access this attraction, you will need to descend a tiny staircase to get to the seating area. Babywearing and lapsitting is allowed. Ventilation is not great aboard the submarines, so for the comfort of everyone on board, make sure your child has a clean diaper! If anyone in your party is unable to do stairs or is claustrophobic, there is an alternate viewing experience for this attraction – just check with the Cast Member out front! Because of the tight quarters of the ride vehicle, this probably isn’t the best ride for a nap or feeding session.

Entertainment & Other Attractions

Disney Visa Cardmember Star Wars Photo Opportunity

If you’re a Disney Visa card holder, you can meet a Star Wars character and get your picture taken with them. This operates on limited hours. Younger guests may find it frightening! The line for this is typically pretty short, so this isn’t the best opportunity for a nap or feeding session. It’s just a quick photo opp!

Fantasyland

Rides

Alice in Wonderland

This is an indoor/outdoor slow-moving dark ride. As this ride was built in the 50s, the ride vehicles are a bit tight so it is difficult to lapsit once they get to a certain size, although lapsitting and babywearing are both allowed. This is not a good ride for naps or a feeding session as it is quite short.

Casey Jr. Circus Train

This is an outdoor train with some cars being open air, while others have a roof and look more like circus cars and are very tight. If you plan to lapsit or babywear I recommend going for the open air cars. This is not a great ride for napping or a feeding session as it is a short ride and travels pretty fast!

Dumbo the Flying Elephant

This is a classic outdoor spinner ride where you can control the height of your Dumbo as you spin! Babywearing and lapsitting are allowed, but since this ride goes by pretty quickly it’s not great for napping or feeding.

“it’s a small world”

A slow-moving, indoor boat ride, “it’s a small world” is perfect for naps, feeding, and an air-conditioned break from weather conditions! Babywearing and lapsitting are allowed.

King Arthur Carrousel

This is a traditional carrousel attraction. Little ones can sit on their own horse or can share with a parent, and there is a belt to hold little ones in place on the carrousel horse. The belt is long enough to hold both an adult and a child on the horse. This ride is quite short, so it’s not a good option for feeding or naps.

Mad Tea Party

Mad Tea Party is a spinning teacups ride, where riders spin the wheel in the center of the teacup to spin faster. Babywearing and lapsitting is allowed, although it can be a tight fit so it is probably easier to have your child sit next to you if they are capable of sitting on their own. Since this ride moves quickly, it’s not a good ride for feeding or naps. If you or your child don’t like spinning, there are plenty of spots to watch the ride from the sidelines!

Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride

This is a dark ride featuring bench seating with a lap bar and a “steering wheel”. There is one row of seating, and lapsitting and babywearing is allowed. If you babywear, your child’s legs must be under the lap bar. The ride is short so it’s not a good ride for nursing or bottle feeding, but if they are already asleep, your child can probably remain asleep for the duration of the ride (I recommend keeping them in the baby carrier if this is the case).

Peter Pan’s Flight

Peter Pan’s Flight is a dark ride with bench seating in a single row with a lap bar. Babywearing and lapsitting is allowed, but if you babywear, your child’s legs must be underneath the lap bar. This is not a good ride for a feeding session as it’s very short. If they are already asleep, they can probably remain asleep for the duration of the ride as it is dark and a quick ride!

Pinocchio’s Daring Journey

This is an indoor dark ride featuring two rows of bench seating with a lap bar. Babywearing and lapsitting is allowed, but if you babywear, your child’s legs must be beneath the lap bar. This ride is not ideal for feeding or nursing as it’s a short ride. If they’re already asleep they can probably remain asleep for the duration of this short ride.

Snow White’s Enchanted Wish

This attraction is similar to Pinocchio’s Daring Journey, with two rows of bench seating with a lap bar. Babywearing and lapsitting is allowed, but legs must be beneath the lap bar. This is not a great ride for feeding or nursing since it’s a short ride. If they’re already asleep, they can probably remain asleep for the ride’s duration.

Storybook Land Canal Boats

Storybook Land Canal Boats is a boat ride featuring bench seating, with no lap bars, seat belts, or overhead shade cover. I recommend babywearing or lapsitting on this one, especially if your child is wiggly! This is not a great ride for feeding or nursing as it is a short ride. If they’re already asleep by the time you board, they can probably remain asleep for the duration of the ride.

Entertainment & Other Attractions

Meet Disney Princesses at Royal Hall

This is an indoor meet & greet with various princesses. Strollers are not allowed in line, and I recommend babywearing if possible, as the line can move quite slowly. Bring snacks! The line is a good opportunity for feeding your little one, and if they are able to nap while you hold them, it’s a good napping spot too. The queue is outdoors but covered! Inside the meet & greet, it moves quickly, so be prepared to move from princess to princess.

Meet Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow

This is an outdoor meet & greet where you can meet Tinker Bell. The queue can get kind of long, so be sure to bring snacks with you, and I recommend babywearing if you are able to, as strollers are not allowed in the queue. The line is a good opportunity for feeding, and a good nap spot if they are able to nap while being held. The actual meet & greet portion is pretty quick.

Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough

Ever wanted to see what’s inside the castle? Walk through Sleeping Beauty Castle and see a quick retelling of the classic Walt Disney movie, Sleeping Beauty. This attraction involves many steps and dark corridors. Strollers are not allowed inside, and as this is purely a walkthrough exhibit, it’s not great for feeding or naps. There is an alternate viewing area near the exit (back side of castle, on the same side as Snow White’s Wishing Well) should you wish to just have a sneak peek!

Storytelling at Royal Theatre

Check out retelling of favorite Disney stories at Royal Theatre! As this is a short stage production, this is the perfect chance for feeding & napping. Grab a seat in the outdoor covered theater and enjoy!

Tale of the Lion King

Tale of the Lion King is being presented near the Toontown Train Station at Fantasyland Theater, a large outdoor covered theater with plenty of seating! Park your stroller, bring your snacks, and grab a seat. This is a great chance to sit down, have a feeding session, and a nap!

Mickey’s Toontown

Rides

Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin

This is a spinning dark ride with no height requirement, however it is a bit more “whippy” than other dark rides throughout the park, and personally I don’t feel comfortable taking my kids on this ride until they are strong enough to hold their heads up on their own. Lap sitting and babywearing is allowed, but the seating area is quite small – just something to be aware of! I would not attempt feeding or napping on this attraction.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

This is a trackless dark ride featuring Mickey, Minnie, and other classic Disney friends! It features bench seating with a lap bar. Babywearing and lap sitting is okay on this one, but as it is goes pretty quickly I would not attempt a nap or feeding session on this attraction.

Entertainment & Other Attractions

Character Houses

Toontown is known as the home where Chip ‘n Dale, Donald, Goofy, Mickey, & Minnie live! You can visit their homes, play in their homes, and even meet them! For the most part these are walkthrough attractions, interactive exhibits, and/or meet & greets. Most locations require you to park your stroller outside and then bring your kids inside. I would plan on babywearing and bring snacks with you in case you encounter a long wait to meet your favorite characters.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Rides

Unfortunately there are no rides in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge without height requirements.

Entertainment & Other Attractions

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has many characters walking around, but not at set times. They just roam the land, and you’ll have to keep an eye out to find them! There are also many fun easter eggs to find, especially if you’re a Star Wars fan. The marketplace is fun to walk around as well, with several shops to peek into, and the quick service restaurants have excellent food & drinks to try. Oga’s Cantina has both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, but it can get a little loud in there, especially as it gets later into the day. If you’re a Star Wars fan, the land is definitely worth checking out!

Frontierland

Rides

Mark Twain Riverboat & Sailing Ship Columbia

These two vessels sailing the Rivers of America are similar in that they hold a large number of passengers. Strollers are not allowed on board, and they both take about a 15 minute voyage around the river. This means it’s a great option for a snack break or a nap! The Mark Twain has more seating opportunities, and the Sailing Ship Columbia is mostly standing room only. If you have a baby carrier I would bring it with you just in case you are unable to snag a spot to sit.

Entertainment & Other Attractions

Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition

Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition is a wild west-themed shooting gallery where guests take aim at tombstones and other fun targets! This is a walk-up attraction, and toddlers may enjoy it, but as it is interactive and requires guests to shoot a rifle, it will require a parent/guardian to lift them up to hold the gun.

Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer Island

Situated in the middle of the Rivers of America, guests board a raft to get over to the island, where they will find caves, bridges, and other fun obstacles to run around and explore! Strollers are not allowed and there is a lot of dirt over on the island, so be prepared for a lot of walking and the potential to get a little dirty. Bring snacks with you, as there aren’t any places to buy food or drink on the island. If you can snag a bench, it’s a good spot for a nap, and also a good spot for a feeding session. I would baby wear if you can, so you have your hands free.

Adventureland

Rides

Jungle Cruise

Jungle Cruise is a slow-moving outdoor boat ride, with a Skipper narrating your tour past animals and other humorous scenes! There are no lap bars or seatbelts. Lap seating & babywearing is allowed, and this is a good attraction for a quick feeding session or a nap if they are already asleep. I would recommend babywearing if you can, as there is a step down to get in the boat and it can be difficult to navigate if you are trying to carry your child in your arms.

Entertainment & Other Attractions

Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room

This is an indoor, air-conditioned musical audio-animatronic show. Food & drinks are allowed inside! This is a great opportunity for napping & feeding, however if your little one is sensitive to loud noises this may not be the best place for them. Strollers must be parked outside unless it is tagged as a wheelchair.

Tarzan’s Treehouse – Currently Undergoing Refurbishment, To Be Rethemed as Another Attraction – Opening Date TBD

Tarzan’s Treehouse is a walkthrough attraction with a lot of stairs and is not stroller or wheelchair accessible. I highly recommend babywearing on this one as it is significantly more steps than one would find in a 2-story home. I don’t recommend trying to feed or squeeze in a nap as it is a walkthrough attraction. It is entirely outdoors, so try to avoid doing this one during the heat of the day.

New Orleans Square

Rides

Haunted Mansion

This is a slow-moving, indoor dark ride. It’s a great opportunity for a nap or feeding session. Babywearing and lap sitting are allowed. The queue can get a little long, so I recommend babywearing if possible.

Pirates of the Caribbean

This is a slow-moving, indoor boat ride with 2 small drops. It’s a lengthy attraction, perfect for napping or a feeding session. Babywearing and lap sitting are allowed. I recommend babywearing if possible as there is a small step down into the boat, and it can be tricky to navigate.

Entertainment & Other Attractions

Fantasmic!

Fantasmic! is a beloved nighttime show taking place on the Rivers of America. Most seating is on the ground, and you need to be prepared to wait quite some time to see the show. There are pyrotechnics effects and other loud noises, so if your little one is sensitive to loud sounds, you may want to hold off until they are older!

Critter Country

Rides

Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes

The canoes are the only guest-powered attraction in the entire park. They do not operate on a track, and instead rely upon the power of guests’ arms to propel the boat… that’s right, guests will be paddling! Although there is no height requirement to ride this attraction, it is very tough to do with little ones. There are no seat belts or lap bars. I strongly recommend against this attraction with little kids, and this is not an appropriate attraction for a nap or feeding session. You will need to be paddling and keeping an eye on your little ones. I would hold off on this until they are older and capable of participating without much assistance.

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

This is an indoor, slow-moving dark ride featuring Winnie the Pooh & friends. It has bench seating with a lap bar. Babywearing and lap sitting are allowed. I would not go for a feeding session on this one as it is a short ride, but if your little one is already asleep they can probably remain asleep throughout the duration of this ride.
