Critter Country & Big Thunder Trail

This past week I went to Disneyland and walked around by myself for a bit. I explored some of the new areas of Big Thunder Trail and walked through Critter Country.

I love some of the new details they included. This stagecoach is authentic to the “old west” feel of the area, particularly when the train runs right overhead.

There are also several desert-friendly flowers, such as this orange wildflower waiting to bloom.

Disney does a pretty good job keeping construction out of sight, but I couldn’t help peeking through a hole in the fence. I saw a lot of dirt, of course, but it looks like some structures are starting to take shape.

After my jaunt along the Big Thunder Trail I snagged a FastPass for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and made my way over to Critter Country. It’s been a while since I’ve really looked at some of the details back here.

These flowers can be found on one of the new walkways that will lead to Galaxy’s Edge, right next to the Hungry Bear Restaurant along the water’s edge.

I love the dark green foliage; it definitely feels like you’re in the woods back here!

Winnie the Pooh had no wait, so of course I had to hop in. Disneyland’s Winnie the Pooh is not original to the Park. It actually used to be Country Bear Jamboree! If you have a keen eye, you can spot some nods to the past attraction.

After Winnie the Pooh I picked up a caramel apple to take home from the candy shop at the exit – I couldn’t resist! I found this sign hanging outside the shop.

That’ll wrap it up for this week’s adventures at the Park. Next time I plan to check out Toontown and Disney California Adventure!
