The 2023 Epcot Festival of the Arts is BACK and bigger than ever! It all begins January 13, so read on to see what you can experience at this year’s festival!
Disney on Broadway Concert Series
Broadway fans, you won’t want to miss the Disney on Broadway Concert Series, offered select nights throughout the festival! With showtimes at 5:30pm, 6:45pm, and 8pm, head on over to the America Gardens Theatre to catch some of the most talented Broadway stars. To guarantee a seat, consider reserving a dining package, available from select restaurants!
Disney on Broadway Concert Series Tips
First, if there is someone you absolutely want to see, I highly recommend securing a dining package. You’ll have a guaranteed seat for the show!
Next, if you don’t have a dining package, there are sometimes same-day dining specials with Spice Road Table or Regal Eagle that include seating for the show and are cheaper than the dining packages. Double check with Cast Members at the restaurant!
If you are doing standby, walk by the theater periodically within a few hours of showtime to gauge the line. If the show you wanted to see fills up, try again for the second or third showing.
Finally, if someone in your party has sensory sensitivities, consider enjoying the music from the fountain area in front of the American Adventure Pavilion. You can still hear the music but it won’t be as loud. My son does not do well with loud music, but we can still experience some of the music from back there.
Food Booths
This year there are many food booths to choose from, called “Food Studios”! You can also participate in the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine – purchase at least 5 out of 7 specially marked dishes, collect a stamp at each booth for those dishes, and head back to Deco Delights to receive a cookie!
Tip: If you have more than one day at Epcot, spread out your eating! You can get full very quickly with the food booth items.. don’t be deceived by their smaller portion sizes!
Musical & Artistic Performances
World Showcase Plaza will host Nicholas Marks playing guitar Thursday through Saturday throughout the festival, and Victor Espinola playing harp Monday through Friday throughout the festival. Double check the My Disney Experience app for specific showtimes.
Also at World Showcase Plaza, acrobatic performances will take place Saturday through Wednesday throughout the festival. Double check the app for specific times.
If anyone in your party has sensory sensitivities, stand back and watch from afar!
Artist Signings, Live Performances, & More
Budding artists and art collectors have a chance to meet their favorite artists or even catch some artists at work! There are also plenty of shopping opportunities throughout the festival.
Check the artist schedule here!
Interactive Experiences
At 12:30pm every day, head to America Gardens Theatre for a complimentary Animation Academy session where you can learn to draw a Disney Character! This is a great souvenir to take home, and guests of all ages can participate!
Find photo opps throughout the park, featuring artistic backdrops. If you have an Annual Pass with photo downloads, or Memory Maker, you can download these photos for free!
On the bridge to World Showcase Plaza, don’t miss the chalk artists. And you’ll want to come back as the art changes throughout the festival! There is also an opportunity for kids to draw with chalk from 11am-5pm daily.
If you’re a fan of paint by numbers, you’ll want to head over to the Expression Section from 11am-5pm daily to help fill in the giant mural. Come back throughout the festival to see how this painting changes!
In the mood for a scavenger hunt? Participate in Figment’s Brush with the Masters for $9.99+tax and earn a prize once you complete the scavenger hunt.
Near Creations Shop, there will be a special exhibit just for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary. And, if you’re a fan of retro Epcot, don’t miss the Odyssey Pavilion. I won’t spoil it for you, but just trust me on this one!
I’ll see you at Epcot!
